ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT Community Development Block Grant Programs
Corn Shop Brook Re-Development Project Thanks to the hard work of the Town staff, Bridgton has recently received a $342,000 Downtown Rehabilitation Grant from the Maine Office of Community Development to help combat Slum and Blight in the downtown area. The project, known as the “Corn Shop Brook Re-Development Project,” has four parts:
The Town plans to begin construction of the parking lots by August 2007 with a completion date in November. The expanded lots will result in more than 100 additional spaces in the downtown, making doing business in Bridgton more enjoyable. Bridgton Sewer Rehabilitation Project As one of only two set-aside communities in
the Cumberland County CDBG Entitlement Program, Bridgton will receive
approximately $200,000 a year during the period 2007-2011. The Town will use the
funds to rehabilitate and expand the Town’s public septic system, creating a
greater capacity for business and residential development in the downtown and
surrounding areas.
