TOWN OF BRIDGTON
COST RECOVERY ORDINANCE
Enacted: June 14, 1995
WHEREAS, Maine state law requires the Town of Bridgton to provide a solid waste
disposal facility for demolition waste generated within the Town; and
WHEREAS, Maine state law also requires the Town of Bridgton to provide for the
disposal of all refuse, effluent, sludge and any other materials from all septic
tanks and cesspools located within the Town; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Bridgton has entered or will enter into certain agreements
to fulfill the state mandates herein recited,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE VOTERS OF THE TOWN OF BRIDGTON, that the
Board of Selectmen of the Town of Bridgton is hereby authorized to recover the
costs associated with the disposal of such waste by passing along the costs of
such disposal to the Town either through a system of user fees or by pass
through billing.
THIS ORDINANCE will take effect on July 1, 1995 and will remain an Ordinance of
the Town until such time as it may be repealed or replaced by another Ordinance.
